Laura Boynes is a dancer, choreographer & film-maker & co-founder of multi-disciplinary collective Praxis. She graduated from WAAPA in 2007 & has performed with national & international choreographers such as Ros Warby, Chrissie Parrott, Joanne Leighton, Clare Dyson, Didier Theron, Aimee Smith, Sally Richardson, Sue Peacock & the English National Opera. As a choreographer she has made short works for dance companies; LINK Dance Company, Buzz Dance Theatre & WA Academy of Performing Arts.
From 2009 - 2013 Laura performed for Buzz Dance Theatre & in 2013 acted as Artistic Associate, choreographing & co-directing Look the Other Way, Winner of the Australian Dance Award for Outstanding Achievement in Youth & Community Dance. Her work Dark Matter (PRAXIS collective) was part of the Move Me Festival 2016 produced by PLWA & was finalist Best Independent Dance Award (2017 Ausdance Awards). Her solo series Wonder Woman premiered in 2019.
