Jacqui Claus

Upon graduating from WAAPA in 2005 Jacqui began performing in the UK for Neville Campbell and Densemble Contemporary Dance Company. Since her return to Perth she has worked off and on with Buzz Dance Theatre, Strut Dance and as mentor to Link Dance Company. Jacqui has also worked with a range of independent choreographers: Danielle Micich, Brooke Leeder, Alice Lee Holland and Chrissie Parrott. In 2009 Jacqui performed Chrissie Parrott’s Cyg.net for the Strut short cuts season earning her Most Outstanding Dancer and Dancer to Watch in the Dance Australia Critics Choice Survey. In 2010 Jacqui was the winner of the Western Australian Dance Award for an Emerging Artist, and for Standing Bird she has been named Most Outstanding Female Performer Dance Critics Survey 2012, was a finalist for Best Newcomer, Fringeworld 2012, a WA Ausdance Award winner for Most Outstanding Performance by a Female Performer 2013, and a finalist for Best Performance at the Blue Room Theatre Awards 2013.
