The Dirty Cowboy

First black sheriff to take charge in this town
No-ones's favourite, the word has got around.
Puffed out chest and poison in his eyes
Decades of slaughter behind his disguise...

A solo theatre performance created by some of WA's most experienced independent artists; Sally Richardson, Mark Storen Joe Lui and India Mehta, and starring award winning actor and musician Tim Solly (Waltzing the Wilarra - Best Supporting Actor, WA Equity Awards) Live music, song, and storytelling combine to create a dark, raw and rough theatrical songfest.

This is a tale of the rise and fall of one man in a small town at the end of the line. Sheriff Talley upholds the law, or did once, but now stands a broken man, a bottle of whiskey in his hand..As he drinks the night away he reveals a dark and brutal tale of love, heartbreak, murder and revenge. What happened to this one man in this town at the edge of the world? Sheriff Talley faces off his devils and demons as he seeks to find redemption in the face of a terrible crime.

In the spirit of Kelly and Cash, Dirty Cowboy weaves original contemporary country and western songs and storytelling to give a raw, heartfelt and honest account of how one man has been brought to his knees.

Who has lost and who has won, who will be standing when this day is done?

Reviews:

Solly's performance is compelling, and his presence fills the room...(this show's) dark heart beats with great passion. My Top Ten shows of Fringeworld Cicely Binford, Xpress Mag

Tim Solly could be a young Russell Crowe...He's got the looks..the charisma..You could have heard a spur jangle in the theatre as he sang his story. The West Australian

Solly has a fabulous Johnny Cash/Tex Perkins growl, and set and lighting conspire to recreate the ambience of the Cohen Brothers classic noir-Western Blood Simple...It's a very stylish evening. Humphrey Bower, Crickey
